I'm thrilled to share that one of my abstract landscape paintings, SUMMER SUNSET, was recently selected for a prestigious international group exhibition in Palm Beach, Florida.

Juried shows like this are incredibly competitive, with hundreds of artists from around the world submitting their strongest work in hopes of being included. For this particular show, each artist was invited to submit three recent paintings, along with a CV and Artist Statement, all reflecting the theme of TERRAIN.

The jury—comprised of seasoned art professionals who evaluate work at the highest level—chose 24 paintings from 24 artists worldwide, and I’m honored that mine was among them.

About the Theme TERRAIN

The exhibition theme TERRAIN reimagines landscapes through abstraction.

TERRAIN explores the evolving dialogue between nature and abstraction in contemporary art. Moving beyond classical depictions, the artists in this exhibition use abstract approaches to evoke the essence of the natural world. Through a range of media—including painting, drawing, printmaking, digital art, mixed media, and photography—these works invite viewers to experience terrain, light, and space in new and innovative ways.

This exhibition celebrates the creative ways in which artists are reshaping the traditional landscape genre to reflect personal vision and contemporary sensibilities. Rather than replicating nature, they reimagine it—offering immersive and emotionally resonant experiences.

Beautiful Gallery with Beautiful Art

It was so thrilled to be selected for the show that I flew down from Canada to Palm Beach to attend the Opening Reception on May 1st.

I was eager to see my painting in the gallery setting and excited for the opportunity to connect with other artists and art lovers.

33 Contemporary Gallery is a stunning space, and the work on display was truly exceptional. I was honored to see my painting prominently featured on a pillar just to the right as visitors entered.

I arrived a bit early that evening to take a few photos before the reception began.

Meeting Jurors and Fellow Artists in Person

So many of our relationships are online these days.

It was a special treat to meet curators and fellow artists in person after so many years. We talked about art all evening and shared our experiences.

My hosts from my inn, Jeff and Randy even surprised me by coming to support me and see the show.

They had never been to the gallery before and loved it so much they asked to be on the invitation list for future exhibitions.

With Curator Sergio Gomez - 33 Contemporary

Sergio Gomez, director of 33 Contemporary Gallery in both Palm Beach and Chicago, curated this exhibition.

He suggested several art galleries, museums and artist studios to visit while I was in Palm Beach.

I spent several days engrossed in fabulous art at the Norton Museum, the Flagler Museum and several local artists’ studios.

It was a great trip and well worth going. I came back to my studio totally inspired.
